Artist Statement: I grew up in Boulder and graduated from the University of Colorado, with a degree in Psychology and Secondary Education. I later attended Lesley University to obtain a masters degree in Curriculum Development. My involvement with clay began in 1971 during my freshman year at CU Boulder, when I began taking private lessons.
For thirty years clay has been a part of my daily life, whether teaching in the schools, offering private classes, or working on my own art in the studio.
Currently living in Penrose on ten acres with views of the mountains, my studio is a spacious converted farm out-building where I also work on stained glass, and refinishing furniture in my spare time. My art has been influenced by my long hours in the outdoors, by an internship on the Navajo reservation in the 1970's, and by a love of both color and simplicity. My work has been in numerous Colorado and regional art shows, and can currently be seen at several Colorado galleries and stores.
