Commonwheel Artists Co-Op’s 51st Annual Labor Day Weekend Art Festival in Manitou Springs is always filled with art and music the whole family can enjoy.

The Art Festival is held at Memorial Park in Historic Manitou Springs, just a few minutes west of Colorado Springs.

It is considered the premiere art festival in the Pikes Peak Region. Art patrons come to enjoy this celebration of original fine art and contemporary crafts, talented local musicians and specialty food items.

For 51 years, a diverse group of potters, jewelers, painters, sculptors, photographers, glass artists, and more, have been displaying their artwork that the Commonwheel jury selects. These artists apply from the Pikes Peak Region, and all around the country to share their creations with art appreciating visitors at this juried art festival.

Many local businesses donate art, entertainment or dining prizes for the free prize drawing that people can sign up for at the Information Booth.

There will be a Kids Art Activity Booth where children can create a Leaf Rubbing and enter in a contest by coloring an image of the front and side of a VW Bus.

Come enjoy the Commonwheel’s Art Festival this Labor Day Weekend to meet the artists and talk to them about their work. Being able to meet and talk with the artists at the art festival is part of the fun. It can spark a creative side of youngsters that could lead them to a career as an artist or just start a new hobby. There are many types of fine art and contemporary crafts that are affordable. Art patrons are enticed to buy something that they can enjoy for many years to come or begin collecting art for their homes. The fine jewelers offer items that make beautiful gifts, or for you to wear to express your own unique, personal style. And with the holidays in the not too distant future, this is a great place to do some holiday gift shopping while supporting artists in a very positive way.

Check back on this website for new information regarding any new parking or regulation updates or changes in the music schedule as the year progresses.

If you would like information regarding how you could volunteer to help with keeping the festival properly staffed please send an email to [email protected] and express your interest by writing “Volunteer” in the Subject line.
