Artist Statement:
Growing up on the prairies of Colorado with only my sisters as playmates, I learned at an early age the art of imagination. We turned clumps of salt brush into palaces made for princesses. Out of clorox bottles, my mother would make us jewel-encrusted crowns to wear in our kingdoms. My sisters and I would tromp all over the prairie pretending the arroyos were waterfalls, such as the ones in the pictures of Hawaii we had seen at the travelogue. We had the best time.

I graduated from the University of Southern Colorado in Pueblo, Colorado in 1983 with a B.A. in Art & Anthropology. I have worked in a variety of locations since receiving my degree. In North Dakota I worked on the Fort Union Archaeological Project. In Massachusetts, on Cape Cod, for six summers I taught several ceramic courses and was Studio Manager. I also participated in workshops at Truro Center for the Arts, having the opportunity to work with many renowned artists such as George Segal, Toshiko Takaezu, Bennett Bean, Sidney Simon, Daniel Mack and Harvey Sadow to name just a few.

I am currently working and living in Pueblo, Colorado with my menagerie of animals.
