Artist Statement:
Handling clay is intensely exciting to me because of the possibilities I can see developing before my eyes. In the initial composition of a piece, clay is a very immediate medium, as compared to other media, which emerge after a long process. Therefore, the almost instant results of a texture or shape, are springboards to further ideas. I think I like working with clay because it is always fun even when there are frustrations and unexpected results.

Another reason working with clay is important to me is that it connects me to the earth and helps me to realize the love I have for nature. Constantly growing and finding new possibilities in a medium that is ever changing is my continued challenge and joy.
