A TOUCH OF GLASS

 Handcrafted Glass Wearable Art

Picture
Valerie Bartron
Each piece I create is a signed original, crafted in my home based studio in the beautiful mountains of Colorado.  I create my art using an oxygen and propane fueled torch, glass imported from Italy and Double Helix glass made in the USA.  I often add other elements to my work such as pure silver, enamel powders and special reduction Frit which give the beads unusual and interesting finishes.  Each bead is properly annealed in a digitally controlled kiln straight from the torch for lasting durability.

I hope my pieces provide as much joy to the individual wearing it as I experienced while creating my molten treasure.

Beautiful teal and pink Lampwork necklace.
$75
This necklace is made with one of my creations. The focal is a one-of-a-kind Lampwork bead.  I’ve added two beautiful vintage glass beads to bring out the colors of the focal bead.  The chain, toggle, wire and small accent silver beads are all sterling.  The necklace measures approximately 20 inches.

Inspired by ancient Roman glass. Aqua blue, pale green and yellow Bead Necklace.

This necklace is made of 56 handcrafted organic Roman style graduated lampwork beads. I used vintage  spacer beads, a sterling silver toggle clasp and Heavy duty Soft Flex wire with sterling silver wire protectors. This necklace stretched out from end to end is 32 inches long.

Fall inspired Lampwork leaf and Sterling Silver necklace
$175
This necklace has 14 handcrafted Lampwork beads.  Each Lampwork bead is individually created in my studio.  This necklace has five multicolored leaves and nine accent beads.  Embellished with sterling silver accents on a sterling sterling chain with a Lobster claw clasp.  Approximately 36 inches long. Adjustable.  It comes in a handcrafted wooden box.

Enameled earrings with garnet chain accent
$48
This is a pair of torched fired enameled earrings.  Enamel is finely crushed glass. When introduced to a flame melts onto the copper base to create a glossy finish.  I enamel both the front and the back for stability and strength.  I added Garnet and multicolored enameled wire to embellish the earrings.  The ear wires are lever back Sterling Silver for comfort and security.

Interchangeable Lampwork glass drop earrings
$38
These earrings are made with Lampwork beads on a Argentium post. I make each bead by hand in my home studio.
The lever back earring wires are Sterling Silver. I love these wires! Easy to take on and off but prevents the earring from falling off.
The drop post is made of argentium silver which has a higher concentration of silver than Sterling Silver.  Argentium silver tarnishes at a much slower rate than Sterling Silver.
The best part is you can switch out the bead with other Lampwork beads with the same size hole!

Desert night sky Lampwork necklace
$195
This necklace was inspired by high desert landscapes.  This one of a kind focal with it’s night sky and crescent moon gives a southwestern feel. I’ve added two lampwork large beads to draw your eye towards the focal pendant. The Antique trade beads, African turquoise, American turquoise, yellow jade and Citrine add to the depth and beauty.  I used a Sterling Silver toggle for the closure.

Lampwork multi string necklace
$185
This Beautiful Earth tone necklace has three One of a kind hand crafted etched Lampwork beads as the focal.  I found the perfect  old world style large hole pony beads to bring out the colors in the focal beads.  I used a decorative adjustable Sterling silver clasp to finish it off.

Small lampwork vessel
$98
I wear one with my favorite essential oil’s in it. I take the lid off and let it dangle so I can smell the oils as I wear it.  I’ve also made special ones to conceal ashes and close them permanently.
