The Shape of Flight is the perfect vehicle for exploring those places of transition. Flight is more than movement through the air. It is the moment between fear and courage, between holding on and letting go, between earth and heaven.
Throughout this collection, birds, figures, and symbolic imagery become visual reminders of hope, freedom, peace, and the quiet ways our spirits are lifted. Each painting invites the viewer to pause for a moment and consider where they are in their own journey.
The hope is that these works offer not only beauty, but also a sense of wonder—and perhaps a glimpse of the places where heaven gently touches earth.

Lori Vafiades
My work is an exploration of the places where heaven touches earth, where darkness meets light and where ordinary moments become something extraordinary. I am drawn to places of transition—those quiet spaces where hope begins, healing takes root, and wonder invites us to see beyond what is immediately visible. As both an illustrator and a fine artist, I enjoy telling stories through color, symbolism, and a touch of whimsy. My paintings are less about documenting a scene and more about capturing a feeling—an invitation to pause, reflect and discover beauty in unexpected places. For me, art is an opportunity to create windows into those sacred moments that remind us we are surrounded by grace, possibility, and light. www.JoyArty.com www.LoriVafiadesStudios.com |
