silences
Silences is a gallery exhibit presented by Commonwheel Artist’s Coop featuring photographs from an ongoing project by photographer Matthew Salomon.
With this body of work Matthew aims to move us, (the viewers), closer to a universal grammar of silence, where the images can be seen as the poet’s blank page.
Most of the photographs selected for this exhibition were taken Colorado. These featured images are likely to be familiar to all who inhabit or have the opportunity to visit this beautiful place.
Matthew’s photography will be exhibited alongside the works of fellow Colorado artists and Commonwheel members potter Jerry Rhodes and mixed media artist Tylan Troyer.
Matthew Salomon is now retired and lives in Divide, Colorado.
Apart from photography, he spends most of his free time reading, writing and traveling. Matthew is honored to have his photography exhibited alongside the works of the gifted artists Jerry Rhodes and Tylan Troyer and to have it viewed and enjoyed by all who’ve chosen to attend the exhibition.
Jerry Rhodes is a ceramic artist living in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
His work has appeared in numerous juried shows and exhibitions. He currently exhibits in galleries throughout the United States and has many pieces in public and private collections internationally. Jerry has an Electrical Engineering degree from Penn State University, is a former Air Force officer, and has held numerous senior satellite and space systems engineering and directorship positions throughout his career. Jerry is now retired from his day job, and is thankful to be able to commit more time to pottery and travel.
Tylan Troyer is a Colorado Springs artist whose versatile body of work comes from his belief that practicing with many mediums and styles collectively enhances each piece and help to effectively convey his imagination and vision onto various surfaces. Urban industrial scenes, railroads and power-lines are frequent themes in his work.
