About the Artist:
Leticia Wesolowski is the proud designer of "Dolce de Leti" designs. She was born in Montevideo, Uruguay--South America--and moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1998 to continue her studies in Architecture and Arts. She graduated as an Architectural Drafter in 2004 and re-discovered her passion for photography, pottery and oil-painting while working full-time at a downtown women boutique. At the same time Leticia was drawn to hand-made jewelry and she taught herself the different techniques of wire wrapping and beading. After lots of practice and friends trying to buy her jewelry, she launched "Dolce de Leti" jewelry with a solid objective: to make designs that customers would love and wear throughout the year for any occasion. Since 2004 her objective has been met on every piece of jewelry she has made and "Dolce" has evolved into a more delicate and feminine line, putting close attention to detail and high quality. The name "Dolce de Leti" is derived from the close association to "dulce de leche" which is a caramel milk-based jam very popular in the River Plate region where she is from. "Dolce" means "sweet" in Italian and "de Leti" means "from Leti" in Spanish. In other words, the jewelry pieces that Leticia makes are her sweets to you. Artist Statement I launched "Dolce de Leti" with the objective of creating exclusive designs to help women of all ages feel beautiful and confident whenever they wear them. I feel that every "Dolce de Leti" is a harmonious combination of beautiful gems resulted from a design process that unfolds as I work with each stone, its nature, its texture, its color and the way it feels in my hands. I draw inspiration from the endless beauty of nature, my travels to South America--where I'm from-- and the changing seasons of Colorado. Each design gives room to more designs, so it is an endless chain of treasures and a very fulfilling personal accomplishment. Visit Leticia's website at: www.dolcedeleti.com Visit her Etsy Shop |
