Front Range Open Studio
July 15—Aug. 15
A preview of artwork from 2016 Front Range Studio Tour participants
Artist’s Reception, July 15, 5-8 pm
Commonwheel Artists Co-op is proud to be partnering with the artists of the Front Range Open Studios Tour by previewing their artists work in our gallery space.
The future of the art and fine craft industry is challenged with the increase of foreign items, an uncertain economy, a lack of funding in today’s schools for art education, and the distance between the creator of the art and his audience.
The Front Range Open Studios Tour puts great emphasis on educating the public as to where and how fine art and craft are made. This is the only studio tour in the state where every location is the actual working studio of the artist represented. This allows them to offer more to the public than just finished product. They have a greater variety of art forms in their tour and hope to also benefit the entire artistic community by showing why art costs what it does.
The dates for this year’s Front Range Open Studio are the 2nd weekend in September. But you can get a preview of what will be on offer during our gallery show. 20 artists will be represented in both our gallery and the studio tour.
