Organic Geometrics is coming to Commonwheel! This art group showcases the two extremes of art and looks at the roots of how artists create. Many artists are more comfortable with curved, organic shapes, mimicking nature in all its unstructured glory. Artist Barbara Blake epitomizes this approach. Other artists are more comfortable with geometric shapes, using more rigid forms as the basis of their interpretation of the world. Ron Cornelius is well known for this approach. And what happens when you combine the two approaches?
Potter Jeremiah Houck, multimedia artist Juanita Canzoneri and printmaker Kathy Wallace explore both sides of the dichotomy.
