Artist Statement: My re-entry into the art world occurred only a few years ago, reflecting an increased desire for fun and discovery. Art was a "first love" from my youth. Ceramics was my first step to reconnecting with a more tactile way to express creativity. I spent a year working full-time with a local potter, then launched my own home-based studio. WallaceVISION and my third career as an artist took off. One thing led to another, and I have added monotype printing and collage work to my repertoire.
Education: Through study with teachers such as Gwen Fox (painting, design) and Jeremiah Houck (ceramics, raku), both in Colorado Springs, CO, and Michael Vigil (printmaking), Taos, NM, I continue to discover new avenues for visual expression. My art friends, the Rock Creek Canyon Art Group, also provide support.
Shows: My work has shown in the Pikes Peak region, Denver, Estes Park and Taos. In addition, I exhibit at various promotional/sales events and business venues in the Pikes Peak region. My biannual Studio Sales are very successful events. My business background has added impetus to her my sales and marketing efforts, moving me forward rapidly in the art world as I had moved in the business world.
