Artist Statement: After retiring from a 31 year career in teaching, I now seriously pursue the art of photography.
My photography encompasses both traditional and non-traditional views of our surroundings and is captured through my travels around the world. I’m always looking for the perfect element of light that accurately depicts what the eye sees and not just what the camera captures. At other times, my goal might be to call out a reflection—whether in the water or on the side of an Airstream travel trailer. Often, I’m able to preserve a viewpoint that others might miss as we hurry through life.
I hope you enjoy this collection of the world as I see it on my life’s journey.
Educational Experience: My first educational experience in photography was attending “Center of the Eye” Photography School in Aspen in the early 70’s. Since then, in an effort to continually improve my work, I have been fortunate to have taken workshops from Galen Rowell, John Shaw, George Lepp, John Fielder, and David Middleton.
