Artist Information: Kay Beaubien is a vibrant mother of two (who are growing up way too quickly) and wife to a pool player. She loves the outdoors, wild lands, anything living (except ticks) and she delights in describing what she sees, feels and imagines in her oil paintings, monotypes and watercolors. “I try to document the beauty I see around me everyday. I am fortunate to live in such a beautiful area and I enjoy traveling to see new wonders.” Kay presently resides on a hillside in Manitou Springs, CO. close to miles and miles of fabulous hiking and scenery.
General Information: Monotypes are original, “one of a kind” prints. They are made by applying inks (with a roller or brayer) to a plexiglass plate and transferring the image to archival, rag paper through a press. Thus each “print” is an original work of art, a painting transferred to paper.
